Jennings O’Donovan & Partners, part of the RSK Group, is recruiting an experienced Senior Project Manager – Energy to join our team in Sligo. This leadership role is designed for a highly motivated professional to lead the delivery of onshore wind, solar PV, and battery storage (BESS) projects from feasibility through to handover.
Role Overview

Location: Sligo, with travel to project sites (Ireland or International).

Sector Focus: Onshore Wind, Solar PV, and Battery Storage (BESS).

Key Emphasis: Programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and FIDIC contract management.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
-
Lead the planning, design, procurement, and construction of energy projects in line with regulatory requirements.

Manage project governance, including risk, budget, schedule, and quality controls across multiple projects.

Lead commissioning, performance testing, and handover procedures to ensure operational readiness.
Contract & Stakeholder Management

Administer contracts following FIDIC Red, Silver, and Yellow Book provisions, including variations and claims.

Act as the primary contact for clients, contractors, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

Support procurement through technical evaluations and commercial negotiations.
Team Management & Compliance

Direct site supervision teams, including Resident Engineers and Health & Safety advisors.

Ensure strict compliance with planning consents, environmental conditions, and H&S Construction Regulations.

Mentor junior engineers and support professional development within the team.
Person Specification
-
Education: Degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience: 10+ years in infrastructure project management, with at least 5 years specifically in renewable energy (wind, solar, or BESS).

Technical Expertise: Proven experience with complex construction projects under FIDIC contracts and a strong understanding of grid connection and environmental requirements.

Skills: Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera, MS Office, and project documentation systems.

Requirements: Full clean driving licence and a passion for sustainability and decarbonisation.
Desirable Qualifications

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.

Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, APM).

Experience with international projects and cross-border team coordination.

Familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD, or BIM platforms.
