SHEQ Advisor
Jennings O’Donovan (JOD), part of the RSK Group, is an award-winning, ISO-accredited multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm. We are seeking an experienced Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to join our team in Sligo or Dublin. This role is a vital opportunity to progress in the Renewable Energy Sector and contribute to landmark infrastructural projects across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Safety & Health Management (Design)

Regulatory Leadership: Act as the Project Supervisor for the Design Process (PSDP) or Principal Designer.

Design Advice: Provide technical safety support to engineering disciplines to ensure compliance with statutory health and safety requirements in design.

Review Coordination: Lead design safety-related reviews (EHS, technical, and process safety) and track essential risk assessments within project schedules.

Documentation: Manage the compilation of Safety Files and coordinate with PSCS and construction management teams.

Technical Management: Provide Temporary Works coordination and manage third-party designers.
2. Quality and ISO Support

IMS Maintenance: Support the Quality Manager in monitoring and improving the Integrated Management System (IMS).

Compliance: Ensure all project work strictly adheres to JOD’s IMS policies and procedures.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality-related projects to enhance health and safety design processes.
3. Internal SHEQ Support & Training

Advisory: Provide general SHEQ advice to colleagues and lead internal H&S audits.

Documentation: Draft health and safety statements and risk assessments in collaboration with the safety committee.

Staff Development: Deliver design safety-related training and promote best practices for environmental and safety work.
Person Specification
-
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in safety (design/construction) or project management.

Education: Recognized professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Science, or Construction.

ISO Knowledge: Strong practical application of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.

Skills: Excellent communication, proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and high attention to detail.

Requirements: Fluent English, a full clean Drivers License, and the ability to travel.

Preferred: Chartered Status or membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., Engineers Ireland, IOSH).
